Privacy Policy

Who I am #
This website, https://manage-the.cloud (“Manage The Cloud”), is a personal blog by Jeroen Ebus about Microsoft, Windows, M365, Azure and security topics.
You can reach me via LinkedIn , GitHub or X .
What data this site collects #
None by itself. This site is a static website: it has no contact forms, no user accounts, no newsletter and no analytics or advertising tools. I do not collect, store or process personal data about visitors. The only optional exception is the comment box, see Comments below.
Hosting and domain name #
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages . Like any web host, GitHub may process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in its server logs, for security and operational purposes. I do not have access to these logs as a personal data source. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for details.
The domain name is registered at Namecheap , which also runs the DNS servers that point the domain to GitHub. When your device looks up this website’s address, the DNS servers may see the IP address of your device or your DNS provider. Namecheap does not receive any information about the pages you read, because the site itself is served by GitHub. See the Namecheap Privacy Policy for details.
Cookies and local storage #
This site does not set any cookies. To remember whether you prefer the dark or light appearance, the site may store that choice in your browser’s local storage. This value stays on your device and is never sent to me or to anyone else. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data. If you load the comment box (see Comments ), Giscus and GitHub may store data in your browser as well, for example to keep you signed in.
Fonts, scripts and images #
All fonts, scripts, styles and images are served from this site itself. No third-party content delivery networks, font services or tracking scripts are loaded, except the comment box when you choose to load it.
Search #
The search function runs entirely in your browser using an index that is downloaded with the site. Your search terms are not sent anywhere.
Comments #
Some older articles show comments that were left on the previous WordPress version of this site. These are archived as plain text (name, date and comment) and are not editable.
New comments are handled by Giscus , an open-source comment system that is not part of GitHub. It stores comments as GitHub Discussions in the public repository of this site. The comment box is not loaded automatically: only when you click Load comments does your browser connect to giscus.app and GitHub, and you need a GitHub account to comment. When you sign in, Giscus and GitHub process your GitHub username, profile picture and the comment you write, and your IP address. These services process your data under their own privacy policies (see Giscus and GitHub ). Comments you post are public, including your username. To have a comment removed, delete it yourself in GitHub or contact me.
External links and embedded content #
Articles contain links to other websites, such as Microsoft documentation, GitHub and social networks. Those websites have their own privacy policies and I am not responsible for them. If an article ever embeds third-party content (for example a video), that provider may collect data about you in the same way as if you visited its website directly.
Images #
Images on this site are screenshots and illustrations I have published. They may contain metadata. If you download images from this site, be aware that this metadata could be extracted.
Your rights #
Because I do not collect personal data through this site, there is normally no data to access, correct or delete. If you contact me directly (for example via LinkedIn), I will only use the information you send to reply to you and will delete it when it is no longer needed. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data and to object to its processing. If you believe your data is being handled incorrectly, you can file a complaint with your national data protection authority (in the Netherlands: the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens ).
Changes to this policy #
If the site changes, for example by adding analytics or other third-party services, I will update this policy and the date at the top.
